Satyanarayan Puja

Satyanarayan Puja is performed to appease Lord Satyanarayan, the most compassionate form of Lord Vishnu. Satya means Truth and Narayana means the Supreme Being. Lord Satyanarayan is considered the epitome of Truth, Justice and Divine Blessings. This puja is performed to offer gratitude to the Almighty during important milestones and auspicious occasions in life. According to the Skanda Purana, Narada Muni once asked Lord Vishnu how people in Kaliyuga could overcome suffering and attain happiness. Lord Vishnu explained that worshipping Lord Satyanarayan is one of the most effective paths to prosperity, peace and moksha. Havan is then performed to invoke divine blessings. The puja concludes with Aarti and Prasad Distribution. When to Perform Satyanarayan Puja? • Poornima (Full Moon Day) • Ekadashi • Saturdays • Kartik Month • Baishakh Month • Any auspicious muhurat Satyanarayan Puja is generally performed in the evening, although morning timings are also considered auspicious. Procedure for Satyanarayan Puja: • Devotees are advised to observe fasting before the puja • Gauri Ganesh Puja is performed • Kalash and Navgraha Puja are conducted • Satyanarayan Katha is recited • Havan is performed • Aarti and Prasad distribution conclude the ritual Which Prasad is Offered?
